As a globally recognised School of Character, Arcadia Global School believes that wellbeing begins with strong foundations: great decision-making, virtue, compassion, and a deep sense of belonging. For us, character is not separate from wellbeing; it is one of the most powerful routes to genuine happiness, positive mental health, and long-term flourishing.
Our priority is to build character that actively supports wellbeing. Alongside this, we have developed a unique wellbeing platform that enables us to track, monitor, support and intervene where needed, as students independently complete their Wellbeing Journals.
(we actually track all students happiness everyday and can flag any trends that may need to be sdreesed)
Students are also recognised and rewarded with House Points for demonstrating key character traits in daily school life.
In addition, our own POSANA Programme, (POSANA meaning “nourish” in Sanskrit) is a dedicated, stand-alone lesson within our curriculum, designed to help every student nourish their mind, body and soul.
Character and wellbeing are woven through the fabric of our entire school culture: through extracurricular activities, cross-curricular learning, our positive behaviour systems, staff CPD, policies, invited speakers and the daily life of the school. Inspirational guests such as Nick Santonastasso and Jessica Smith have brought our AGS Values to life through powerful, motivational, and deeply thoughtful events for our community.
We also take staff wellbeing seriously. Our Staff Wellbeing Society supports our on-site team, while our bright, healthy, and purposefully designed school environment, including our school farm (where food is grown buy students for the support staff), helps us create the conditions for a genuinely happy school.
As you can probably tell, we are extremely proud of what we have built for our students, staff, and families. At AGS, character and wellbeing are not initiatives; they are part of who we are. I would be more than willing to have a sit down chat anytime. Cheers Andy
